Now, the question is should I upgrade my Redmi Note 4 or not?

In my opinion, No
You shouldn’t upgrade your Redmi Note 4 into Redmi Note 5.
But if you want to upgrade your Redmi note 4 then go for Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Why?

Because there are lot of similarities in Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Note 5. In Redmi Note 5 you get 18:9 screen ratio while as in Redmi Note 4 you get 16:9 screen ratio. In Redmi Note 5 they give you a better camera experience than Redmi Note 4.
Otherwise, why you spend your money and get same features.
Both the devices have same processor and also runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat. Both devices have same design from backside.

Xiaomi also not give dual camera in Redmi Note 5 but they gave in Mi A1.
Also Xiaomi Give 5MP front camera in Redmi Note 5 while as they gave 16MP front camera in Redmi Y1.
So, According to my opinion you shouldn’t upgrade your Redmi Note 4 into Redmi Note 5.

But if you want to upgrade your Redmi Note 4 then go for Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Because in Redmi Note 5 Pro you get a better CPU performance because Redmi Note 5 Pro has snapdragon 636 chipset that has better GPU. It gives better contrast than Redmi Note 5.

Redmi note 5 Pro has better camera then Redmi Note 5. Redmi Note 5 Pro has 20MP front camera with portrait mode and dual rear camera.

Bottom Line

If you want to upgrade then go for Redmi Note 5 Pro.
